The Faculty Development Specialist at the University of Louisville's Delphi Center for Teaching and Learning plays a crucial role in advancing teaching effectiveness and student success through faculty development initiatives. This position supports the planning, design, and implementation of professional development programs that address the needs of faculty in both digital and in-person learning environments.
The Faculty Development Specialist is responsible for creating, delivering, and evaluating a range of development opportunities, including workshops, conferences, foundational courses, and faculty learning communities, all grounded in evidence-based research and aligned with institutional goals. This role involves consulting with instructors across disciplines and ranks to enhance instructional practices in online, in-person, and blended courses, making thoughtful recommendations to strengthen course content and delivery. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in the latest research and best practices in pedagogy and course design, possess strong proficiency in digital tools for teaching, and demonstrate an ability to guide faculty in creating engaging, student-centered learning experiences.
This is a full-time position with a 37.5-hour regular workweek. Flexible hours may be considered between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM (ET), Monday through Friday, with business needs in mind. Possible evening and weekend hours may be needed based on departmental needs. This position's office is located on the Belknap Campus, although remote work up to 2 days per week is possible.
Minimum Salary - $61,147
Maximum Salary - $68,000
