Job summary

University at Albany is seeking a Faculty Development Specialist in the Office of the Provost. The role provides strategic and operational support for key functions, coordinating faculty personnel processes and governance activities across academic units.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree and 3–4 years of relevant experience, with a preference for a Master's degree and experience with confidential personnel matters in higher education.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • 3–4 years of relevant project management or administrative experience.
  • Experience handling confidential personnel matters in higher education.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate faculty personnel processes for tenure-track faculty with HR and academic units.
  • Prepare and submit tenure, promotion, and renewal materials on time.
  • Review dossier materials for completeness and compliance with guidelines.
  • Support CPCA by coordinating meetings, materials, outcomes, and summaries.
  • Oversee faculty-related programs, applications, and related communications.
  • Maintain secure records of faculty promotions and contract renewals.
  • Provide normal operational support to the Provost's Office and coordinate meetings/events.
  • Assist with onboarding, governance procedures, and web resources for faculty.
