Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or related discipline (required).
  • Master's in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or related discipline (preferred).
  • Formal coursework in Education (preferred).
  • Six (6) years experience in commercial or heavy-civil construction management (required).
  • Teaching experience at the high school, CTE/CTC, or college level (preferred).
  • Interpersonal and written communication skills; ability to work with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

  • Instruct and evaluate students in construction management courses: codes, surveying, estimating, scheduling.
  • Maintain laboratory conditions and maintenance; supervise field projects.
  • Keep accurate written records of student performance; complete rosters and returns to school office.
  • Supervise lab cleanup; comply with safety, hazardous waste disposal, and recycling policies.
  • Maintain office hours as stated in the part-time agreement.

Job description

Overview

The faculty will be responsible for educational leadership and student instruction on a part-time basis in the Building Construction Management program, i.e., codes and specifications, surveying, estimating, and scheduling.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or related discipline. Required
  • Master's Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related discipline. Preferred
  • Formal coursework in Education. Preferred

EXPERIENCE

  • Six (6) years experience in commercial or heavy-civil construction management. Required
  • Teaching experience at the high school, CTE/CTC, or college level. Preferred

ABILITIES AND SKILLS

  • Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with students, faculty, staff, and the public. Required
  • Sensitivity to the expectations of students, faculty and staff. Required
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form. Required

  • Possession of a valid driver's license. Preferred
Responsibilities
  • Instruct and evaluate students in construction management courses, i.e., Codes and specifications, surveying, estimating, and Scheduling.
  • Assume responsibility for laboratory conditions and maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate written records of Student performance.
  • Provide coordination and supervision for instructional field projects.
  • Complete official Student rosters and return to School office as required.
  • Supervise students in lab cleanup activities.
  • Comply with College safety, hazardous waste disposal, and recycling policies.
  • Maintain office hours as stated in the parttime agreement.

  • Attend School and Department meetings as requested.

Pay Transparency

The part-time rate for 2026/27 will be the greater of $1180 per credit or $787 per contact hour, prorated for student enrollment under seven. The approved substitute pay rate is $49.19 per hour during the first week of substituting and the prorated part-time teacher rate for consecutive substitute assignments that exceed one week.
