Job summary

UTHealth Houston is seeking a Faculty Affairs Specialist to provide comprehensive administrative support for the school's faculty affairs functions. The role requires initiative, discretion, and independent judgment in managing programs, meetings, and reporting.

The position involves coordinating recruitment, faculty development, committee activities, and data management, with emphasis on accurate documentation and effective communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required with equivalent years of experience considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in administration of a program, preferably in healthcare or higher education.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficient with Microsoft Office and online meeting platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Provides high-level coordination for programs related to faculty recruitment, hiring, development, and retention.
  • Organizes faculty meetings, retreats, orientation, and other events.
  • Supports faculty committees by coordinating meetings, recording minutes, and IT resources.
  • May assist with faculty performance review processes and with creating print/web marketing material.
  • Develops and maintains in-house faculty databases and generates detailed reports as requested.
  • Assists leadership with scheduling, event planning, and research on topics as needed.
  • May manage calendars, travel itineraries, reimbursements, and office supplies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
