Responsibilities

  • Successfully prepare, manage, and deliver course content to achieve course objectives and student learning outcomes.
  • Actively engage students and provide prompt feedback in a respectful and effective manner.
  • Communicate and follow course syllabus content with administrative guidance.
  • Collaborate with College support services to address students’ academic needs.
  • Utilize College technology for instruction and administrative tasks including LMS, email, and student information system.
  • Meet deadlines and maintain accurate class and employee records.
  • Ensure laboratories are stocked and equipment is safe when applicable.
  • Foster a positive, student-centered, professional environment.

Overview

Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is seeking to expand its pool of adjunct faculty to teach Accounting courses for Fall 2026 Semester and beyond. This position is not remote and must be seated on our NORTH CAMPUS in Salisbury, NC.

Compensation
  • Min Salary: $35.85
  • Max Salary: $38.30
  • Salary Type: hourly
  • FLSA: E = Exempt
Qualifications
  • Required Education/Experience: Master’s degree in Accounting, or a master's degree in any business related discipline with 18 graduate hours in Accounting; one or more years of teaching in higher education or two or more years of corporate training.
  • Preferred Education/Experience/Skills: Two years teaching in a Community College setting; Experience using Canvas LMS.

Responsibilities

  3. Communicate and follow course syllabus content in accordance with directions provided and administrative guidance.
  4. Work collaboratively with the College’s support services to identify and address the students’ academic support needs.
  5. Utilize College technology for the delivery of instruction and completion of operational processes; this includes but is not limited to the College’s learning management system, email and calendaring solution, document management system(s), student information system, and employee portals.
  6. Meet deadlines, including maintaining and submitting accurate class records, employee records/requests, and other assigned tasks.
  7. When applicable, ensure laboratories are appropriately stocked with required supplies and equipment is in safe operating order.
  8. Facilitate a positive, student-centered, and professional environment among students, faculty and staff.
