Job summary

Nox Metals in Ferndale, MI seeks a Factory Shift Lead to drive safety, quality, and output on weekdays and weekends shifts. You will lead a small team, set priorities, and coordinate with the production schedule to meet customer demand.

This on-site role requires hands-on operation of saws, CNC, forklifts, and cranes, plus coaching staff on equipment and our software. You’ll champion safe practices, record data, and ensure every cut and shipment meets spec.

Responsibilities

• Lead shift team, set the pace, and own the outcome for safety, quality, and output.
• Assign work, set priorities, and keep the shift on the production schedule.
• Train and coach team members on equipment, safety, and our software.
• Enforce safety rules and PPE, stop unsafe work, and report incidents and near misses.
• Run a clean handoff, pass open jobs and issues to the next shift lead.
• Operate saws, CNC, and handling equipment to cut and inspect aluminum to spec.
• Run forklifts and overhead cranes, we’ll train and certify you.
• Record cut data and job completions in our software systems, accurately, every time.
• Complete other tasks as assigned

Factory Shift Lead | Nox Metals | Ferndale, MI

Nox Metals is a technology company in Metro Detroit supplying metal. We use software and automation to supply metal to American factories faster than the industry thought possible.

Shift hours:

• Weekdays, First Shift: Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Weekdays, Second Shift: Monday through Thursday, 5:30 PM to 4:00 AM
• Weekends, First Shift: Friday through Sunday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Weekends, Second Shift: Friday through Sunday, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

You will:

• Lead your shift team, set the pace, and own the outcome for safety, quality, and output

Nice to have:

• Prior shift lead or supervisory experience in manufacturing
• Experience in metals, aluminum, or aerospace/defense supply chains
• Forklift and/or overhead crane certification
• Comfortable using AI tools to work faster and smarter

This role is full time, in person in Ferndale.
