Job summary

Skyline Windows is seeking a Factory Project Manager to oversee window manufacturing projects at our New Jersey facility. You will manage production planning, procurement, shipping coordination, and field installation liaison, coordinating across Materials, Purchasing, Production, and Shipping to ensure on-time delivery.

The role requires strong communication, organization, and MS Project skills, with 2–5 years in the façade/window industry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering preferred; 2–5 years in façade/window industry.

Responsibilities

• Owns projects from release through production, procurement, shipping, and installation liaison.
• Review load sequences, shop drawings, and quotes; ensure version accuracy.
• Sign into PrefGest and locate projects by QID number; flag discrepancies.
• Perform level 4 optimization to evaluate drops and waste; determine bar lengths to maximize yield.
• Review glass specs against shop drawings and confirm coating, size, and specs.
• Coordinate glass purchase orders with up to 300 windows per delivery to support daily production.
• Schedule and conduct a Factory Kick-Off meeting at least 3 weeks before production starts.
• Serve as the main contact between factory, Skyline crews, and subcontractors.

Position Summary

The Factory Project Manager (FPM) is the central operational hub for all window manufacturing projects at Skyline Windows' NJ production facility. The FPM takes ownership of each project once it is released by the Factory Engineer (PrefNa Engineer), managing it through production planning, material procurement, shipping coordination, and field installation liaison. The FPM serves as the primary point of contact between the factory and all external teams, coordinating across Materials Management, Purchasing, Production, Accessories, Shipping, and Installation to ensure on-time, on-spec delivery of windows and doors.

Responsibilities

• Review the load sequence and instruct the Factory Engineer (PrefNa Engineer) on how to phase the project into production batches prior to order release.
• Receive and review the project release from the Factory Engineer (PrefNa Engineer) via email, including the job folder link, shop drawings, load sequence, and quotes.
• Sign into PrefGest (PrefNa) and locate the project by QID (Quotation-Invoice-Delivery) number.
• Review and validate all project documents for completeness and version accuracy before proceeding.
• Flag any discrepancies to the Factory Engineer (PrefNa Engineer) immediately, including mismatched versions of load sequences, shop drawings, or quotes.
• Run cut sheet Level 4 optimization across the entire ORDER tab in PrefNa QID to evaluate drops and waste.
• Determine optimal bar lengths per profile, including multiple bar lengths, to maximize yield and minimize material waste.
• Review glass specifications against shop drawings and confirm coating, specs, and size requirements.
• Prepare glass purchase orders with a maximum of 300 windows per delivery to support daily production sorting needs.
• Schedule and conduct a Factory Kick-Off Meeting at least 3 weeks prior to the start of production.
• Serve as the primary point of contact between the factory and installation teams (Skyline inhouse crews and subcontractors).

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Solid organizational skills, time management, attention to detail, and multi-tasking skills.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Working Knowledge of MS Project (data tracking, spreadsheets).
• College degree in a related field (construction management, engineering, etc.) is a plus.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in façade/window industry

Compensation

• Competitive compensation. Base salary range: $77,000–$open, depending on experience,
• Paid time off which includes annual 1 week closing and company paid holidays.
