Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Electrification, Manufacturing or Project Management.
  • Experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint and SAP is required.
  • Ability to travel ~5% and work in a hybrid role in Houston, TX.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with the proposal team to review orders from technical and commercial perspectives.
  • Manage the entire order-cycle including scheduling, drawings, shop execution, and shipping.
  • Monitor project financials, invoicing, costs, and cash flow.
  • Identify and manage risks and resolve disputes related to invoicing or changes.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to achieve project success and customer satisfaction.

Join us and help run what runs the world.This position reports to:Manufacturing Unit Manager__As a Factory Project Controller supporting ABB's manufacturing of 38kV Switchgear in Houston, TX, you will have the opportunity to lead the execution of medium-size projects (ranging from $500K - 5M), work with a dynamic and fast-paced team, and be able to act as the \"CEO\" of your concurrent Projects. Each day, you will ensure that all related activities are executed in accordance with procedures, regulations, standards, specifications and targets. You will also showcase your expertise by leading the project team members to achieve project requirements, deliver contracted deliverables, and meet the committed project result.The work model for the role is Hybrid out of a facility in Southeast Houston (77304). #LI-HybridThis role is contributing to the Distribution Solutions Medium and Low Voltage Switchgear in North America, specifically 38kV Switchgear offerings.You will be mainly accountable for:Engaging with the proposal team to review orders from a technical and commercial standpoint during order entry. Ensure customer requirements are in line with ABB contractual obligations. Responsible for quotation and booking of change orders. Initiate price change requests, apply mark-ups, prepare quotations and implement schedule changes, as appropriate.Acting as the primary contact for all order-related matters to the various stakeholders outside of the factory. Manage the entire order-cycle including scheduling, delivery of drawings, execution in the shop, on-time shipment, invoicing coordination, and closing. Provide status/progress updates to all stakeholders with appropriate level of detail. Collaborate cross-functionally in a coordinated and professional way to create a team environment that achieves project success.Monitoring and controlling project financials, overseeing project invoicing status, cost, expenses and cash flow. Support all aspects of orders to enhance shipped margin opportunities. Under general direction, resolve disputes involving invoicing, back charges, escalation, delays, and warranty charges.Identifies, qualifies, quantifies and manages risk, and ensures that all opportunities are identified and pursued.Our team dynamics:Join a high energy team ready to drive change and improve the overall customer and employee experience.Qualifications for the role:Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field (required).5+ or more years of experience in Electrification, Manufacturing or Project ManagementKnowledge of Project Management disciplines and process.Experience in dealing with the cultural diversity of a global business environment.Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and knowledge in power systems and protection-related matters.Prior experience in a manufacturing setting is strongly preferred.Must be familiar and have practical experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, SAP and other applicable software.Complex problem-solving and strong conflict resolution skills required.Successful candidates will be self-motivated and possess a high level of creativity.Ability to travel approximately 5%.Candidates must already have a work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in the United States.What's in it for you:We empower you to take the lead, share bold ideas, and shape real outcomes.
