Job summary

ASML in San Diego is seeking a skilled Material Handler to support parts delivery for chip‑making equipment. You will handle material movements, inventory transactions, and SOP adherence while mentoring teammates and supporting Lean initiatives.

Requires a high school diploma or GED and 5+ years in warehousing or related fields, with strong ERP and MS Office experience. Onsite attendance and collaboration across shifts are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 5+ years of warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, distribution, supply chain, or material handling experience preferred.
  • Experience with Oracle, SAP, Power BI, and SharePoint strongly preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel. PowerPoint and Power BI experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Complete daily work activities involving order processing, physical material movements, and inventory transactions within the assigned work center.
  • Coordinate daily workflow priorities to ensure shift objectives and operational requirements are adequately covered and completed within established timeframes.
  • Ensure work instructions, standard operating procedures, and safety requirements are followed and consistently utilized.
  • Provide on‑the‑job training, mentoring, and knowledge transfer.
  • Assist leadership in prioritizing daily workload, resource allocation, and work center readiness.
  • Execute and support effective shift pass‑down communication to ensure continuity of operations between shifts.
  • Support and monitor key performance indicators, service levels, and operational metrics to identify gaps and drive performance.
  • Contribute to the safety and security of employees, materials, facilities, and Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
  • Evaluate space utilization and recommend improvements to work center layouts and material flow.
  • Manage inventory control activities and lead investigations into inventory discrepancies through root cause analysis and cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Escalate operational, inventory, quality, and safety concerns in a timely and professional manner while providing recommended solutions when appropriate.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement, Lean, Kaizen, and process optimization initiatives within the work center.
  • Support implementation of approved process improvements, new procedures, and operational changes.
  • Receive, inspect, and audit incoming materials for accuracy and compliance.
  • Conduct daily cycle counts and inventory audits to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Process material transactions through Oracle and other business systems.
  • Coordinate material returns, transfers, and disposition activities as required.
  • Package, prepare, and verify materials approved for shipment according to established procedures.
  • Expedite and communicate material shortages, quality issues, and operational constraints within the work center.
  • Maintain documentation and records in accordance with departmental procedures.
  • Operate Material Handling Equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned processes, systems, and operational workflows.
  • Support new product introductions, system changes, process implementations, and training initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

As a Material Handler, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of parts required to build the latest computer chip‑making machines. This position is responsible for executing advanced material handling activities while serving as a subject‑matter expert within the work center.

The Material Handler 4 supports operational planning, inventory accuracy, process improvements, and employee development to ensure materials are delivered safely, accurately, and on time. This role requires onsite presence to attend in‑person work‑related events, trainings, and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration, and innovation.

This position facilitates the receipt, verification, computer transaction, and physical movement of inventory and non‑inventory materials while mentoring team members, supporting shift priorities, and helping implement approved process improvements.

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of related experience in warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, distribution, supply chain, or material handling operations preferred.
  • Experience with Oracle, SAP, Business Objects, Power BI, and SharePoint strongly preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel. PowerPoint and Power BI experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience training, mentoring, or supporting less experienced employees in an operational environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting daily work coordination, workload prioritization, or operational initiatives preferred.
  • Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and decision‑making skills.
  • Experience working in a Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Kaizen environment preferred.
  • Experience operating Powered Industrial Equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, preferred.
  • Experience with inventory management, cycle counting, root cause analysis, material flow, and quality audit processes preferred.
  • 6 months experience working as an ASML Material Handler.
Skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to translate, statistically analyze data, and effectively report problems through written and/or graphical formats.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with an advanced understanding of customer relationship building.

The current base annual hourly range for this role is currently: $25.24-37.86

Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job‑related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
