Job summary

ASML US, LLC in Wilton, CT seeks an Operations Supervisor to coordinate material handlers and team leads on the shop floor. You will oversee shift planning, prioritize tasks, and ensure timely output in a dynamic warehouse and/or cleanroom environment.

You will monitor quality, safety, and performance, mentor staff, participate in improvement projects, and act as liaison across operational departments to maintain smooth flow and continual cost-effective operations.

Qualifications

  • Secondary trade school education level 3 or 4 with logistics experience.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, practical environment and under pressure.
  • Independent work style with strong teamwork and communication.

Responsibilities

  • Create personnel planning on operational level for a specific shift.
  • Coordinate demand and changes from planning departments.
  • Identify and solve disturbances in the sub-flow and escalate when needed.
  • Set priorities and inform shopfloor to drive timely task pickup.
  • Oversee quality flow and report irregularities.
  • Ensure safety compliance with 5S+1 principles and communicate safety changes.
  • Participate in Performance Management and propose improvements.
  • Co-own Daily Performance Management and analyze Pareto data.
  • Coordinate onboarding and track skills/competency development.
  • Mentor and act as contact person on shopfloor.

Job description

Context

Works in operational team. Main activities take place in the warehouse and/or cleanroom.

Acts as coordinator and/or foreman to material handlers, colleagues, and team‑lead. Interfaces mainly with employees on the shop floor, team‑lead, supporting operational departments and other logistics‑related departments across ASML.

Understands tasks and procedures within operational flow to oversee and optimize work processes. Has ability and flexibility to solve disturbance issues in operational flow.

Works under regular supervision of team‑lead on progress and results and may act as delegate for team‑lead.

Requirements
  • Holds secondary trade school education level 3 or 4 and has thorough experience within logistics.
  • Able to work in a dynamic practical environment and perform well under pressure.
  • Able to work independently, acts as a flexible team player and has good communication skills.
Responsibilities

Operations

  • Creates personnel planning on operational level for a specific shift ensuring sufficient capacity to deliver required output.
  • Acts and coordinates on foreseeable demand and requested changes from operational planning departments.
  • Identifies and solves disturbances in own sub‑flow (such as damaged product or administrative error in system). Escalates disturbance issues involving cross‑departmental alignment such as quality and/or warehousing engineers.
  • Sets priorities and informs shopfloor on priorities to drive timely pick‑up of tasks. Helps junior material handlers with questions on performing operational tasks.

Quality

  • Oversees and analyses quality flow on irregularities and shares findings with team‑lead.

Safety

  • Takes responsibility of 5S+1 principle by inspecting own workstation using a checklist to ensure adherence to safety guidelines.
  • Informs and instructs material handlers on agreed changes in safety policies.

Performance Management

  • Prepares and may act as delegate of team‑lead in Performance Management Meeting. Acts on shared feedback by analyzing trends to propose solutions.
  • Proposes improvements and initiates implementation of small/operational‑flow‑focused improvements.
  • Keeps track of operational planning and adjusts capacity to prevent bottlenecks in operational flow and meet demand output.
  • Co‑owns Daily Performance Management (DPM) letters with peer material handler by performing Pareto analyses and identifying improvements.

Project Management

  • Participates by executing assigned project tasks within operational flow and/or leads departmental projects by coordinating project tasks in team within operational flow.
  • Identifies, owns and drives projects on departmental level. Joins improvement events of customers such as pressure cookers or value‑stream maps. Identifies benefits of projects and reports to team‑lead of department.

Mentor/Training

  • Coordinates onboarding of new team members.
  • Keeps record of performance (skills/competency) of on‑the‑job training activities of team members and informs team‑leads of deviations to ensure ability of team members to become self‑efficient.
  • Observes and evaluates development of team members during and post training activity together with team‑leads to ensure knowledge transfer and ability to become self‑efficient.
  • Acts as contact person to all employees on shopfloor.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Potential exposure to strong magnetic fields, high voltage and currents.
