Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a Technical Program Manager for Industrial Engineering (Factory Design) in Pittsburgh, PA. You will lead factory design programs from concept to handoff, coordinating with engineering, facilities, and operations to ensure on-time delivery and design governance.

The role requires 5+ years in technical project management within manufacturing or factory design, proficiency with CAD tools, and experience with change management platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of technical project or program management experience in manufacturing, industrial engineering, factory design, construction, or related environments.
• Strong understanding of factory layouts, equipment integration, material flow, infrastructure planning, and manufacturing operations.
• Experience managing cross-functional projects involving engineering, construction, facilities, and operational stakeholders.
• Hands-on experience with MaintainX, Quickbase, or similar change management and workflow tracking systems.
• Proficiency in project scheduling, milestone management, risk assessment, stakeholder engagement, and executive reporting.
• Experience managing change requests, action items, decision logs, and project governance processes.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), and Bluebeam.
• PMP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead factory design programs from concept development through engineering reviews and construction readiness.
• Develop and maintain integrated project schedules, milestones, and resource plans.
• Coordinate with IE, Manufacturing, Facilities, Construction, Operations, and EHS teams.
• Manage the full change request lifecycle in MaintainX, Quickbase, or similar systems.
• Drive factory layout governance including equipment placement, space planning, and design approvals.
• Identify and manage design changes, risks, dependencies, and schedule conflicts.
• Facilitate cross-functional decision-making to maintain timelines and commitments.
• Maintain dashboards, milestone trackers, action logs, decision registers, and status reports.
• Coordinate engineering deliverables with construction schedules, installations, and readiness activities.
• Support continuous improvement of PM, design review, and documentation processes.
