Job description

Position Overview

We are looking for an entry-level Factory Commissioning Test Technician to join our team in Lexington, NC. Training will be provided, and this role involves commissioning, troubleshooting, and repairing next-generation light rail, locomotives, and coaches. The candidate must be familiar with electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical and mechanical commissioning on locomotive and coach cars
  • Troubleshoot, document, and repair electrical and mechanical failures
  • Work with state‑of‑the‑art diagnostic test equipment
  • Understand and comply with company and industry safety standards
  • Communicate technical information, job procedure recommendations, and other work‑related information verbally and in writing
  • Work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Read, interpret, and understand written or electronic schematics
  • Use PTUs to troubleshoot various systems onboard light rail, locomotive and coach vehicles
Qualifications
  • High‑school diploma (or GED)
  • 2+ years of experience in electrical testing
  • Proficiency in electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical troubleshooting
  • Associate’s degree in engineering or mechatronics, or related education preferred
Physical Demands

Candidates should be comfortable working in a non‑climate‑controlled environment when required. The job duties may require standing, walking, sitting, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and using hands to handle objects or tools. Frequent verbal communication is necessary; occasional tasks may involve detecting odors. Ability to lift and/or move items up to 40 pounds is required.
