Position Overview

As a Labor position at Siemens Mobility, you will support a broad range of activities in a dynamic, high‑energy production environment with a strong focus on safety and quality in the fabrication of carbon steel and stainless‑steel car bodies for the best rail vehicles in the world.

Shift: Monday - Thursday, 5:30am - 4:00pm.

What your day-to-day will look like
  • Through a variety of methods, move material between locations and departments and outside storage.
  • Receive work assignments, oral and/or written instructions, from supervision.
  • Operate forklift trucks and/or manually push pallet jacks to move within or between designated areas:
    • trash, and dump scrap into larger scrap containers at designated areas.
  • Operate fork truck to move larger scrap containers from designated areas.
  • Operate floor cleaner, vehicle sweeper throughout the facility to maintain good housekeeping.
  • Assist in maintaining and keeping work area and equipment in a neat, safe, clean, and orderly condition.
  • Perform other related work as assigned and directed.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean organized facility through excellent housekeeping skills.
To thrive in this role, you have
  • High school education or state recognized GED, or equivalent combination of education.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Must have basic English skills with the ability to effectively communicate with customers, vendors, contracted services and other employees within the Company.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos and technical documentation.
Physical Demands
  • Candidates should be comfortable working in a non‑climate‑controlled environment when required.
  • Job duties may require standing, walking, sitting, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and using hands to handle objects or tools.
  • Frequent verbal communication is necessary; occasional tasks may involve detecting odors.
  • Ability to lift and/or move items up to 40 pounds is required.
  • Specific vision abilities include:
    • Close and distance vision.
    • Color differentiation.
    • Peripheral vision.
    • Depth perception.
    • Ability to adjust focus.
