Vice President / Director – Factoring & Receivables Finance Origination

Overview

The Origination Officer will be responsible for sourcing, structuring, and closing factoring and receivables finance solutions for middle-market and commercial clients. This individual will drive new business through direct origination, referral partnerships, and intermediary relationships, working closely with credit, underwriting, legal, and operations teams to deliver tailored working capital solutions.

The role requires a proven producer with deep knowledge of factoring structures, credit risk, and customer needs across multiple industries.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Origination

• Originate new factoring and receivables finance transactions through:
• Broker and referral relationships
• Bank, CPA, and advisory partnerships
• Build and manage a robust pipeline of new opportunities
• Target middle-market, lower-middle-market, and select enterprise clients
• Structure competitive solutions including:
• Full-service factoring
• Non-recourse and recourse factoring
• Spot factoring
• Supply-chain and trade receivables solutions
• Lead transactions from initial screening through close
• Work closely with credit and underwriting to:
• Analyze obligor and debtor risk
• Structure advance rates, reserves, pricing, and covenants
• Coordinate with legal and operations to ensure efficient onboarding
• Present transactions to internal approval committees

Relationship Management

• Serve as primary relationship manager for originated clients
• Maintain strong post-close engagement to drive retention and cross-sell
• Partner with portfolio management and servicing teams to monitor performance

Market & Product Development

• Stay current on market trends, competitive dynamics, and regulatory developments
• Provide feedback on product enhancements and new market opportunities
• Represent the firm at industry events and conferences

Qualifications & Experience

Required

• 7–15+ years of experience in:
• Factoring
• Asset-based lending (ABL) with a factoring focus
• Demonstrated track record of successfully originating and closing transactions
• Strong understanding of:
• Credit analysis
• Established network of referral sources
• Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills

Preferred

• Experience across industries such as:
• Transportation & logistics
• Staffing
• Manufacturing
• Distribution
• Prior experience at a bank, specialty finance company, fintech, or independent factor
• Bachelor's degree required; MBA or finance-related certification a plus
