Job summary

Merck is seeking a Facility/Utilities Engineer at the Wilson Site to support the Plant Engineering team, focusing on mechanical system improvements and optimization. The role involves leading capital projects, coordinating with Operations, Automation, and Quality to drive uptime, productivity, and cost reduction while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

BS in engineering or technology; other fields considered with strong relevant experience
5+ years of facility/utility experience
Familiarity with cGMPs and regulatory requirements
Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Technical writing and deviation investigation skills
Utility, HVAC, and Refrigerant system process improvement and optimization experience

Responsibilities

Manage individual contributors and contractors
Lead plant engineering improvement projects and productivity initiatives
Provide technical guidance to employees, colleagues, or contractors
Coordinate with Operations, Automation, and Quality approvers
Identify and implement process improvements to maximize equipment uptime and reduce cost
Review engineering records and GMP documentation for accuracy and corrective actions
Develop training materials and SME support for maintenance systems
Support cross-functional teams in reliability and regulatory discussions
