Job summary

First Solar is seeking a skilled Facility Technician - II to support day-to-day maintenance and repairs of building equipment on the Perrysburg campus. You will apply electrical, mechanical and HVAC knowledge to keep facility systems running efficiently.

This hands-on role requires strong problem solving, clear communication and the ability to work with internal and external teams to complete tasks safely and on time.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 5+ years in related maintenance in manufacturing
• Skilled electrical or mechanical trade experience with 3 years in manufacturing
• 3+ years manufacturing with an associate in mechanical/electrical discipline
• Broad experience with building utility power, compressors, generators, plumbing and facility systems

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety procedures and good housekeeping standards
• Assist with office moves and campus furniture changes
• Maintain Perrysburg building and grounds facilities
• Assist with installation of signage and safety equipment on campus
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on equipment
• Collaborate with inspectors, contractors and other departments as requested

Education/Experience

• High School Diploma/GED and 5+ years in related maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting, OR
• Skilled Electrical or Mechanical Trade experience with 3 years in a Manufacturing setting, OR
• 3 + years' manufacturing experience with Associates Degree in a mechanical or electrical discipline.
• Broad experience with commercial building utility power, air compressors, emergency generators, plumbing, fire detection and facility systems.
• Mechanically inclined with working knowledge of facilities system and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.
• Demonstrated experience with equipment systems including mechanical and pneumatic/hydraulic with electrical controls.

Essential Responsibilities

• Responsible for adherence to all safety procedures and good housekeeping standards.
• Assist with office moves including furniture, cubicle changes and moving people throughout campus.
• Maintains Perrysburg building and grounds facilities using applicable resources and equipment.
• Assist with installation of all signage and safety equipment on campus.
• Performs other assignments as required.

• Minor electrical and plumbing repairs and small projects throughout PBG Campus.
• Routine duties include identification, troubleshooting and repair of any irregular conditions on equipment, timely follow-up on work orders, and performing preventative maintenance.
• Complete various work orders as assigned.
• This position will perform mechanical and plumbing work, general maintenance working with inspectors, contractors, and department liaisons as requested.
• Interfaces with other departments, contractors, and supplier personnel.
• Identifies and recommend opportunities for cost saving.
• Other duties as assigned.

Reporting Relationships

• This position reports to the Facilities Manager.
• This position will not have direct reports.

Travel

• 0% - 5% (On occasion/as needed for training, etc.)

Estimated Salary Range

• $23.37 - $32.69
