Job summary

First Solar is seeking a Facility Technician in Perrysburg, Ohio. The role involves day-to-day maintenance and repairs of facility equipment efficiently and effectively.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years in a manufacturing setting as an electrician or mechanic.

Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day maintenance and repairs of facility building equipment.
  • Assist with installation of signage and safety equipment.
  • Perform minor electrical and plumbing repairs.

Skills

Job Overview

The Facility Technician will support Facilities and Maintenance operations with day-to-day maintenance and repairs of facility building equipment in a timely and cost-efficient manner.

Experience

Experience with commercial building utility power, air compressors, emergency generators, plumbing, fire detection and facility systems. Mechanically inclined with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.

Education
  • High School Diploma/GED and 2+ years in related maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Skilled Electrical or Mechanical Trade experience with 1+ years in a Manufacturing setting
Required Skills and Competencies
  • Knowledge of building electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A team player with the ability to work well with internal and external teams
  • Ability to work with tools to accomplish repairs
  • Ability to work with little supervision
Essential Responsibilities
  • Responsible for adherence to all safety procedures and good housekeeping standards
  • Assist with office moves including furniture, cubicle changes and moving people throughout campus
  • Maintain Perrysburg building and grounds facilities using applicable resources and equipment
  • Assist with installation of all signage and safety equipment on campus
  • Perform other assignments as required
  • Minor electrical and plumbing repairs and small projects throughout PBG Campus
  • Routine duties include the identification, troubleshooting and repair of any irregular conditions on equipment, timely follow-up on work orders, performing preventative maintenance
  • Complete various work orders as assigned
  • Job description subject to change to support business needs at any time
Physical Requirements
  • Will sit, stand or walk short distances for up to 12 hours per day
  • Will climb stairs on an occasional basis
  • Will exert up to 50 pounds of force to lift, push or pull on a seldom basis
  • Will lift, push or pull up to 27 pounds on a frequent basis
  • Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects repetitively on a frequent basis
  • 20/40 vision in each eye, with or without correction, is required
  • Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures
  • May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis
  • May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective jacket or apron and arm guards)
