Job summary

Nathan S. Kline Institute in Blauvelt, NY invites applicants for a full-time Safety and Security position. Shift: Monday–Friday 4:00 PM–12:00 AM.

You will perform safety and security duties, monitor CCTV, respond to emergencies, manage the front desk, and conduct rounds. The role requires at least 18 years old, NY Peace Officer Certification eligibility, physical ability, a valid driver's license, and willingness to cover overtime shifts with notice.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Possession or eligibility for possession of New York State Peace Officer Certification (a 7-week peace officer academy in upstate NY).
• Ability to perform physical job responsibilities.
• Must have access to a vehicle and valid, unrestricted driver's license upon hire and continuously thereafter.
• Schedule flexibility to permit as needed site visits to NKI to cover various overtime shifts with advance notice.

Background Investigation/Justice Center Review Requirements

Prospective appointees will be: 1) Checked against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) maintained by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs. Prospective employees whose names appear on the SEL as having been found responsible for serious or repeated acts of abuse or neglect will be barred from appointment. 2) Screened against the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR). Prospective employees whose names are indicated on the SCR may be barred from appointment
