Job summary

Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. seeks a full-time Safety and Security professional in New York, working Monday–Friday from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM in Orangeburg.

The role covers facility protection, CCTV monitoring, emergency response, front desk duties, and routine rounds. Ideal candidates are at least 18 years old with NYS Peace Officer Certification eligibility, able to perform physical tasks, and able to provide reliable transportation for overtime site visits to NKI.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must possess or be eligible for NYS Peace Officer Certification.
• Ability to perform physical job responsibilities.
• Must have access to a vehicle and valid driver's license.
• Schedule flexibility to cover overtime shifts at NKI with advance notice.

Job Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Possession or eligibility for possession of New York State Peace Officer Certification (a 7-week peace officer academy in upstate NY).
• Ability to perform physical job responsibilities.
• Must have access to a vehicle and valid, unrestricted driver's license upon hire and continuously thereafter.
• Schedule flexibility to permit as needed site visits to NKI to cover various overtime shifts with advance notice.

Background Investigation/Justice Center Review Requirements

Prospective appointees will be: 1) Checked against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) maintained by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs. Prospective employees whose names appear on the SEL as having been found responsible for serious or repeated acts of abuse or neglect will be barred from appointment. 2) Screened against the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR). Prospective employees whose names are indicated on the SCR may be barred from appointment.
