City of Austin is seeking a facilities services lead to guide staff, assist clients, and coordinate move-in/move-out activities at Palmer Events Center. You will work with the Event Coordinator on event changes and client needs while enforcing safety policies and overseeing security operations.
The role requires strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with willingness to work night shifts and weekends as needed. The position is essential and includes comprehensive benefits.
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for leading and performing activities of facility service staff who provide information, instruction, and assistance to clients and visitors.
May provide leadership, work assignments, evaluation, training, and guidance to others.
Appropriate level of driver's license as specified for the individual's job.
Salary Range: $22.48 - 25.24 per hour
Location: Palmer Events Center
Days and Hours: 9:00 p.m. - 5:00 a.m. The schedule includes a rotating shift. Ability to work some evenings, weekends, and holidays is required for this position.
This position relies on a successful Criminal Background check.
This has been designated as an Essential Employee position. In the event of a city-designated extraordinary situation or emergency condition, essential employees provide services that impact the public health, safety, utility services, and welfare of members of the Austin community and other employees, as well as ensure the continuity of essential operations.
Essential Employees may be called back in during such events, required to modify their schedule, assigned to a City-designated work site, or retained on-site to assist with operations and recovery.
This position requires a Type C or the ability to acquire one by your hire date. External New Hires must meet the City of Austin's Driver Record Evaluation (DRE) requisite. To be considered for a driving position, applicants cannot have more than three moving violations or a total of six Driver Record Evaluation points within a period of thirty-six (36) months.
