Job summary

CoreCivic is seeking a Shift Supervisor to oversee security staff and inmates on a designated shift within a secure facility. You will supervise daily operations, ensure adequate staffing, and uphold safety and compliance standards.

The role involves recruiting and orienting staff, overseeing training, and contributing to effective facility resource management. A valid driver’s license and supervisory experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent required.
• Three years experience in a criminal justice field or related field, including two years in a supervisory capacity.
• Completion of basic pre-service correctional officer training and, where applicable, a commissioned security officer license.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Knowledge of correctional facility management, related laws and regulations, and supervision/training principles.
• Minimum age of 18.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise and manage operations of security staff and inmates/residents on the shift.
• Provide staffing for the supervised area and cover shortages as needed.
• Engage in recruiting, hiring, and orientating staff in the supervised areas.
• Make recommendations on personnel matters and assist in facility resource management.
