GavinHeath is partnering with a client in Littleton, CO, to find a dedicated Facility Security Officer (FSO). This full-time position is ideal for someone with Top Secret (TS) security clearance who will manage and oversee security compliance in a non-possessing facility. Our partner requires a proactive, experienced professional to ensure adherence to government security regulations while maintaining internal security standards. This role plays a critical part in upholding national security compliance and supporting operational integrity, especially after an unsatisfactory DCSA audit.

Role Impact & Objectives
As the Facility Security Officer (FSO), you will lead security operations, ensuring compliance with government regulations and security standards while directly impacting the organization's ability to operate in the government contracting space.
Top 3-5 Measurable Objectives for the First 6-12 Months:
- Compliance Re-establishment: Lead efforts to address recent DCSA audit findings and prepare for the May 12 re-audit.
- Clearance Management: Oversee personnel clearances, ensuring 100% compliance and timeliness in DISS, NISS, and e-QIP systems for approximately 44 active clearances.
- Security Program Enhancement: Refine and implement the insider threat program, conducting quarterly briefings and security training to ensure staff compliance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with HR, Legal, and Operations to manage security processes, especially during onboarding and offboarding of cleared personnel.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Administer and track clearance statuses for all personnel using DISS, NISS, and e-QIP.
- Coordinate with government agencies (DCSA) and subcontractors to ensure clearances are maintained across all personnel.
- Prepare for internal audits and self-inspections to ensure compliance is up-to-date.
- Lead insider threat training and ensure all employees are briefed and understand their roles in security practices.
- Handle ad-hoc security-related tasks as needed when on-site, though not mandatory.
Realistic Challenges:
- Addressing and correcting the audit deficiencies highlighted in the recent DCSA audit.
- Navigating the middleman role in government contracting and understanding the sensitive flow of data from government contracts to subcontractors.
Skills & Experience
Required Qualifications:
- Active Top Secret (TS) Clearance (or recently lapsed clearance with ability to reactivate).
- 2-5+ years of FSO or industrial security experience in a non-possessing facility.
- Hands-on experience with NISPOM, DISS, NISS, and e-QIP systems.
- Experience managing insider threat programs and responding to DCSA audits.
- Ability to work independently and lead security operations without heavy micromanagement.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a Value-Added Reseller (VAR) or middleman environment.
- Knowledge of CMMC, NIST 800-171, or similar compliance frameworks.
- CDSE FSO Training or equivalent certification.
Desired Soft Skills:
- Resourceful and detail-oriented, able to handle multiple tasks without supervision.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across departments such as HR, Legal, and Sales/Subcontracts.
- Clear communicator who can explain complex security processes to a diverse audience.

Compensation & Logistics
Salary Range:
$65,000-$80,000, depending on experience, plus standard benefits.
Work Hours & Time Zone Expectations:
- Standard business hours with occasional after-hours availability for urgent security matters.
- On-site presence is preferred; remote work possible with occasional company-paid travel for internal audits or major events. (Remote candidates may be asked to be onsite quarterly; expenses covered)
Scheduling Flexibility:
- Remote work is possible, but on-site presence is expected at least part of the week for local candidates. If the candidate is remote, they will need to come on-site for quarterly audits or events.
