The Facility Security Officer (FSO) is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of security programs to ensure compliance with the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) and other applicable regulations. The FSO ensures that all classified information and materials are handled, stored, and protected in accordance with federal guidelines. This is a part-time remote position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary liaison with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA).
- Manage and maintain the facility's security program in accordance with NISPOM, DoD 5220.22-M, and other government regulations.
- Conduct personnel security clearance processing (e.g., e-QIP, JPAS/DISS, SWFT, NBIS).
- Oversee the preparation, submission, and maintenance of security documentation, including DD254s and visit requests.
- Conduct self-inspections, security audits, and annual reviews to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Develop and deliver security training and briefings, including Initial, Annual, and Refresher training for cleared personnel.
- Implement and enforce physical security measures for access control, classified storage, and secure areas.
- Manage incident reporting and coordinate responses to security violations or adverse information.
- Maintain security records, logs, and databases, ensuring they are accurate and up to date.
- Support Insider Threat Program and work with Insider Threat Program Senior Official (ITPSO) as needed.
- Stay updated with changes to security policies, directives, and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Active Top Secret security clearance.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an FSO or in a similar industrial security role.
- Thorough knowledge of NISPOM, DCSA processes, and tools such as DISS, e-QIP, and NISS.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred:
- FSO certification through CDSE (Center for Development of Security Excellence).
- Experience supporting classified contracts with multiple federal agencies (e.g., DoD, DHS, DOE).
- Familiarity with COMSEC, OPSEC, and export control regulations (ITAR/EAR).
- Experience with physical security systems (CCTV, alarms, badge access).
