Job summary

PetIQ is seeking a Safety Specialist to join our plant team in Utah. You will work alongside the safety manager to promote health and safety, conduct on-floor audits, and help train staff in best practices.

This role emphasizes collaboration, attention to hazards, and the ability to adapt training methods to diverse shifts. A High School Diploma is required; bilingual Spanish-English is a plus, and a willingness to learn is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Safety Manager with training programs and recordkeeping.
  • Ensure employees comply with safety policies and document concerns.

  • Walk the floor to identify hazards and propose resolutions.
  • Work with Safety team to improve safety culture and remedy hazards.

Job description

This individual will work along with the rest of the plant staff to ensure that all team members are working in a Safe environment that promotes the Health and Safety of all individuals. This position reports to the Facility and Safety Manager

Essential Functions/Job Duties
  • Help the Safety Manager administer training programs for best practices involved with Manufacturing as well as keep record of these programs.
  • Assist with the employees' compliance with company safety policies and procedures and record any concerns associated with employee compliance.
  • Spend much of their shift on the floor with the employees – auditing safety and safety practices, training, identifying issues, reporting.
  • Proactively help with the establishment of new policies to prevent future accidents.
  • Proactively walk the floor to help identify potential hazards on the job and propose resolutions about such hazards to management.
  • Work with the Safety team to create programs and ideas for improving the safety culture and for remedying any hazardous condition, practice, or potential loss-causing circumstance.
