Job summary

Georgia-Pacific in Gurdon, AR seeks a Facility Safety Manager to lead safety strategy at the plywood mill, driving culture change and sustainable safety systems. You will partner with operations to reduce risk and protect employees.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will develop risk controls, oversee OSHA/compliance, and guide capital projects to ensure safe execution while building a disciplined safety culture.

Qualifications

• Safety leadership experience in manufacturing/industrial settings.
• Bachelor’s degree in safety, industrial hygiene, or engineering.
• CSP certification or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety vision and strategies through leadership and employee ownership.
• Develop and implement risk assessment methods for identifying hazards and improvements.
• Manage compliance with OSHA and company standards.
• Ensure facility risk controls are addressed and maintained.
• Recommend engineering/design changes to reduce risk and improve safety.
• Drive safe work practices and capital-project safety planning.
• Identify safety training needs and drive continuous improvement.
