Job summary

Georgia-Pacific's Mt. Jewett MDF facility in Pennsylvania is seeking a Safety Manager to provide safety leadership and strategic direction through the PBM Framework. You will drive safety excellence, train leaders and employees, and ensure risks are identified and mitigated.

Reporting to the facility manager with a dotted line to the Division S&H Manager, you will lead safety initiatives, manage compliance, and foster a culture of zero incidents at the Mt. Jewett plant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, industrial hygiene, engineering, or related field.
• Safety leadership experience in an industrial, military, or manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety vision and strategies with management commitment and employee ownership.
• Mentor and develop direct and indirect reports to strengthen team performance.
• Advance safety culture through Path to Zero and safe work practices.
• Manage compliance with OSHA, state/local regulations, and PSM/Workers' Comp.
• Develop risk assessments and drive mitigation of gaps and improvement opportunities.
• Support capital projects to ensure safe design, construction, and startup.
• Identify training needs and drive continuous safety improvements with audits.
