Additionally, the FSC will assist in facility outage scheduling, planning/scheduling projects, and budget planning for safety within the plant.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Program Development and Implementation:
- Develop, implement, and maintain written health and safety programs, policies, and procedures in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs for all employees, including new hire orientations and ongoing refresher courses.
- Establish and maintain an effective incident investigation and reporting system.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans and conduct regular drills.
Risk Assessment and Hazard Control
- Conduct job hazard analyses (JHAs) and risk assessments to identify and evaluate workplace hazards.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety controls and make necessary adjustments.
- Oversee the safe operation of machinery and equipment, including lockout/tagout procedures in our Injection Mold areas.
- Evaluate ergonomics of workstations and implement ergonomic improvements.
Compliance and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, incidents, and other relevant data.
- Prepare and submit required safety reports to regulatory agencies.
- Stay up to date on changes in safety regulations and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to waste disposal and pollution prevention.
- Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies during inspections and audits.
Safety Culture and Communication
- Promote a positive safety culture through effective communication, training, and employee engagement.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and toolbox talks.
- Investigate and analyze accident/incident reports and near miss reports.
- Communicate safety information and updates to all employees.
- Work collaboratively with management and employees to address safety concerns.
- Lead the safety committee.
Emergency Response
- Act as the primary point of contact for emergency situations.
- Coordinate emergency response activities, including evacuations, first aid, and fire suppression.
- Maintain and inspect emergency equipment, such as fire extinguishers and first aid kits.
