Job summary

Nestlé S.A. in Rockingham County, near the Virginia border, is seeking a Quality Systems Specialist to develop, certify, and maintain the factory’s Food Safety Management System and Quality Program.

This role supports HACCP, Food Safety Plans, and Food Defense, while upholding safety in all activities and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. The position coordinates the Quality and Food Safety policy, factory internal audits, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Experience implementing and maintaining quality management systems.
  • Experience with audits and regulatory compliance in a manufacturing setting.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, Food Safety Plans, and Food Defense concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Food Safety Management System and Quality policies.
  • Coordinate internal audit program for Quality and Food Safety.
  • Ensure document, record, and status control compliant with corporate/regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in administering changes for Quality Monitoring Schemes and review annually.
  • Coordinate the factory Change Control program.

Position Summary

One of our newest factory, located along the Virginia border, breathes new life into a former brewery, creating an innovative and technologically advanced pet food manufacturing facility. We have transformed the existing structure in Rockingham County to produce leading dry dog and cat food brands, including Purina Pro Plan®, Purina ONE®, and Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets®. With a strong focus on sustainability and safety, this facility is committed to doing our part to care for the environment, like conserving water, investing in renewable electricity and maintaining zero waste for disposal. As a Quality Systems Specialist, you willbe responsible fordevelopment, certification, and compliance of the factory’s Food Safety Management System.You’llmanagethe factory’s Quality Program to ensure complianceto Companyand regulatory requirements.You'llsupport the factory’s HACCP system, Food Safety Plans, and Food Defense Plan. Manages Quality and Food Safety Training Compliance.You’lluphold Safety as a core value in all activities while activelyparticipatingin all factory Safety and Continuous Improvement initiatives.

  • Coordinates Food Safety Management System, companyQuality and Food Safety Policy, Quality Management Systems, and Federal Regulations.
  • Coordinate the Factory Internal Audit Program of Quality and Food Safety Management Systems.
  • Ensure factory Document Control, Record Control, and Status Control programs are compliant with Corporate and regulatory requirements.
  • Assistin administration and communication of changes for Quality Monitoring Schemes. Review process annually with QA Management.
  • Coordinate the factory Change Control program.
Requirements
  • High SchoolDiploma or GEDrequired
  • 2+ years of quality systems, auditing, food safety, quality document control,orrelated experience within a manufacturing, industrial, military, or related environment

The approximate pay range for this position is$58,000 - $95,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
