Job summary

Indiana Michigan Power Company is seeking a Facilities Project Planner to oversee space planning and capital/operational projects across Indiana and Michigan facilities. You will develop space plans, coordinate with general contractors, manage Scopes of Work, cost estimates, schedules, and project drawings, and maintain Archibus databases.

Strong CAD skills and MS Office proficiency are required. You will travel 25-50% as needed and ensure compliance with safety and procurement policies while

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in engineering, facilities, business, architecture or related field or High School Diploma/GED and 2 years of relevant work experience.
• 5 years of experience in facilities operations or space planning duties.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Travel 25-50% of the time.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Basic Understanding of Electricity and/or HVAC systems.
• Weekends, holidays or after-hours work may be required.
• Strong computer skills and knowledge of computer applications used in a Windows environment including Power Point, Excel, Word, AutoCAD etc.

Responsibilities

• Support new construction and renovation projects across all Indiana/Michigan facilities.
• Serve as the onsite point of contact for general contractors and work closely with the Project Scheduler to ensure projects are completed on time.
• Prepare projections of immediate and long-range space requirements and budget projections for capital and O&M expenditures.
• Responsible for space planning, furniture layout design and contractor management.
• Coordinate with the Corporate Facility Engineer on office standards and projects.
• Obtain documentation for contract requisition system and manage contracts per Procurement policies.
• Provide coordination and communication to customers regarding office moves and remodels.
• Develop project documentation including Scopes of Work, cost estimates, schedules, and drawings.
• Maintain Archibus database for regional buildings.
• Supervise small to medium capital and O&M projects including building construction and remodels.
• Apply AEP environmental and safety policies in project management.
