Job summary

Outreach is seeking a qualified full time Porter/Office Cleaner to work for our substance abuse treatment program. The Porter/Office Cleaner will carry out vital services that keep our building running smoothly.

Responsibilities include lobby maintenance, cleaning kitchens, cafeterias and offices, vacuuming and mopping, restrooms, trash removal, setting up/tearing down meetings, and wiping desks and cabinets. The role requires attention to safety and adherence to building standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of High School diploma or GED.
• Previous experience as a cleaner/porter.
• Basic construction, electrical and plumbing skills a plus.
• Understanding of federal and state building safety standards.
• Knowledge of OSHA universal precautions.
• Clean and valid NYS driver’s license a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lobby maintenance
• Clean common areas like kitchens, cafeterias and offices
• Vacuum all carpeted rooms and mop non-carpeted floors
• Monitor and service restrooms, refill soap dispensers, toilet paper rolls, toilet seat covers and paper towels in bathrooms
• Remove trash and debris
• Meeting setup/tear down
• Wipe down desks/file cabinets, etc. in all offices
• Be aware of universal precautions and proper procedures for cleaning up hazardous spills
