Job summary

Outreach is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people address substance use and behavioral health challenges. We are seeking a full-time Porter/Office Cleaner to maintain a safe, clean facility in Ridgewood, NY.

You will perform lobby upkeep, clean kitchens and offices, vacuum and mop floors, service restrooms, remove trash, assist with meetings, and wipe desks. A High School diploma and prior cleaning experience are required; OSHA safety knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of High School diploma or GED.
• Previous experience as a cleaner/porter.
• Basic construction, electrical and plumbing skills a plus.
• Understanding of federal and state building safety standards.
• Knowledge of OSHA universal precautions.
• Clean and valid NYS driver’s license a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lobby maintenance.
• Clean common areas like kitchens, cafeterias and offices.
• Vacuum all carpeted rooms and mop non-carpeted floors.
• Monitor and service restrooms, refill supplies.
• Remove trash and debris.
• Meeting setup/tear down.
• Wipe desks and file cabinets in all offices.
• Follow universal precautions for hazardous spills.

Outreach is seeking a qualified full time Porter/Office Cleaner to work for our substance abuse treatment program. The Porter/Office Cleaner will carry out vital services that keep our building running smoothly.

Job Scope:

• Lobby maintenance
• Clean common areas like kitchens, cafeterias and offices
• Vacuum all carpeted rooms and mop non-carpeted floors
• Monitor and service restrooms, refill soap dispensers, toilet paper rolls, toilet seat covers and paper towels in bathrooms
• Remove trash and debris
• Meeting setup/tear down
• Wipe down desks/file cabinets, etc. in all offices

Be aware of universal precautions and proper procedures for cleaning up hazardous spills
