Job summary

Clean Harbors located in La Porte, TX is seeking a Facility Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day facility operations and manage field operations with a strong focus on safety and efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have industry and logistics experience aligned with environmental regulations, plus supervisory capabilities across supervisors and technicians. This full-time role offers competitive pay and benefits in a 1:45pm–11:00pm shift with potential overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in chemical operations
  • Experience with logistics and field operations
  • Strong administrative and budgeting skills
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and OSHA basics

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize health and safety in all activities and enforce safe practices
  • Drive productivity while ensuring health, safety, compliance and customer satisfaction
  • Ensure each project has an operating plan and personnel follow it
  • Supervise and mentor Supervisors and Technicians; support performance evaluations
  • Meet daily production goals: trailer offloading, receiving, shredding, and outbound ops
  • Act as emergency coordinator on site and be the point of contact during shifts

Job description

Clean Harbors located in La Porte, TX is looking to add a Facility Operations Manager to join their safety conscious team. The Facility Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations as well as management of field related operations of the facility. The successful candidate will have industry experience and logistics experience combined with a strong administrative skill set.

Strongly desire a candidate who has worked at a 10 day drop yard or a TSDF location.

Shift: 1:45pm-11:00pm Mon-Fri. OT and weekends as needed.

Pay: $85,000+ DOE; Annual Bonus Potential

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
  • Emphasize productivity, health & safety, compliance and customer satisfaction;
  • Ensure that each project has an operating plan and that personnel follow it;
  • Onsite supervision, training and mentoring Supervisors and Technicians and will also provide input to General Manager regarding performance evaluations for individuals to whom this position has direct supervision over;
  • Will be responsible for daily production goals of the shift including trailer offloading/receiving, consolidation, shredding, box truck offloading, and outbound operations. Additionally, further shift expansion is also planned;
  • General operation manager duties, setting and assigning daily area tasks and goals. Troubleshooting difficulties. Ensuring Health and Safety. Ensuring Compliance. Will act as emergency coordinator on site during shift. Point of contact for facility during this time and manager on duty.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent required (Degree in environmental studies preferred);
  • Experience working at a 10 day drop yard and/or a TSDF location is highly preferred;
  • 5+ years' experience in chemical operations preferred;
  • Supervisory or management experience in chemical operations preferred;
  • P&L/Budget experience;
  • Knowledge of Federal, state and local environmental regulations;
  • OSHA Training and experience.
