Job summary

Smurfit Westrock has an opportunity for an Operations Manager at our recycling facility in Jacksonville, FL. This role reports to the General Manager and focuses on safety, operations, compliance, and people management to drive efficiency and quality.

The ideal candidate will lead daily meetings, oversee maintenance, manage production schedules, and ensure adherence to safety and environmental regulations while upholding the company values of integrity, respect, accountability and excellence.

Qualifications

• College degree preferred with a minimum of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience in maintaining safety culture and OSHA-related practices is desirable.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities required.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of shift supervisor, maintenance and all plant employees.
• Oversee daily production schedule and logistics for materials.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed and training is completed.
• Address maintenance issues and oversee major projects.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA and local codes.
• Foster a culture of integrity, respect, accountability and excellence.
