Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Lawrenceville, GA is seeking an Operations Manager to lead safety, maintenance, and daily production at the recycling facility. The role reports to the General Manager and requires hands-on leadership in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will direct supervision of the shift supervisor and plant staff, coordinate schedules, ensure quality systems, and maintain OSHA/EPA compliance while promoting a culture of integrity, respect, and excellence.

Qualifications

• College degree preferred with 3+ years supervisory experience in manufacturing.
• Experience fostering a strong safety environment and OSHA compliance.
• Experience operating maintenance and logistics in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience operating material handling equipment (forklifts, etc.).
• Ability to lead meetings, manage schedules and production planning.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of the shift supervisor, maintenance and plant employees.
• Oversee daily production schedule and production efficiency.
• Ensure quality systems comply with customer specifications.
• Maintain safety programs and drive a safety culture.
• Oversee logistics for shipping/receiving of raw materials.
• Complete housekeeping and organize workspace for efficiency.
