Job summary

Blanchard Valley Health System is seeking a Mechanic II to operate, maintain and repair equipment and building systems across our health facilities. The role requires strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems, plus the ability to read manuals and follow complex instructions.

Responsibilities include diagnostics, repairs, preventive maintenance, and responding to emergencies to ensure a safe patient and staff environment.

Qualifications

• High school education with vocational or field experience.
• Associates degree in Building Maintenance with Refrigeration/Boiler coursework.
• Three to five years of related institutional maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of HVAC, fire alarm, electrical and plumbing systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform plumbing duties including repairs to pumps, piping, valves and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits and control systems.
• Maintain and repair building mechanical systems and equipment including HVAC and pumps.
• Inspect and repair doors, walls, and fire safety systems within the facility.
• Respond to emergencies and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
