Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Washington is seeking a proactive Facility Manager to lead maintenance and housekeeping across the Reston facilities. You will oversee day-to-day operations, preventive maintenance, and vendor coordination to keep spaces safe, welcoming, and member-ready.

Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in facilities management, knowledge of HVAC/plumbing/electrical systems, and a willingness to obtain Pool Operator Certification within 90 days.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in facilities management or related field.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry and preventive maintenance.
• Pool Operator Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain within 90 days).
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be available for emergency call-outs.

Responsibilities

• Manage housekeeping and maintenance teams to deliver facility standards.
• Oversee preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
• Coordinate repairs, work orders, inspections and vendor relationships.
• Ensure safety, health and regulatory compliance across the facilities.
• Develop staffing plans and workflows for operational efficiency.
• Monitor inventory and budgets for the department.
• Implement innovative cleaning and maintenance practices to improve member experience.
• Partner with branch leadership for events and facility upgrades.
• Lead training, performance management, and team development.
