Job summary

Akima Mission Optimization (AMO) seeks a Facility Manager to lead day-to-day facility operations at our Charleston Warehouse in support of the PM AAA federal contract. The role ensures the facility is safe, secure, well maintained, and compliant while coordinating with program leadership and government representatives.

Responsibilities include managing building systems, security procedures, OSHA safety programs, procurement, vendor management, budgets, and acting as the primary government

Qualifications

• 3+ years of facility management, warehouse operations, or maintenance experience.
• DoD or federal contract experience preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and fire/life safety codes.
• Experience managing budgets, work orders, and vendor contracts.
• Ability to obtain and hold a favorable U.S. SECRET clearance.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily facility operations and building systems, including preventive maintenance and vendor coordination.
• Enforce access control, visitor management, and physical security procedures; support NISPOM and DD-254 compliance.
• Implement OSHA-compliant safety programs, conduct inspections and drills, track corrective actions.
• Procure equipment and materials to support onsite personnel.
• Oversee material handling equipment and accountability of government-furnished property per FAR/DFARS.
• Manage facility budgets, work orders, and vendor contracts against contract funding.
• Serve as primary facility contact for government customers, inspectors, and contractors; support audits.
• Maintain emergency and severe weather preparedness plans.

Job description

Akima Mission Optimization (AMO) is seeking a Facility Manager to lead day-to-day facility operations at our Charleston Warehouse in support of the PM AAA federal contract. This role ensures the facility is safe, secure, well maintained, and compliant, working closely with program leadership, government customer representatives, and the designated Facility Security Officer (FSO).

Working Conditions

On-site warehouse environment with variable temperatures and noise. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and wear required PPE. Occasional overtime or on-call availability.

Security Requirements

Access to classified information at the SECRET level is required. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and able to obtain and maintain a favorable SECRET clearance through DCSA. Continued employment is contingent on the clearance being granted and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily facility operations and building systems (HVAC, safety inspections, electrical, fire suppression, overhead doors), including preventive maintenance and vendor coordination.
• Work with PM and onsite designated personnel to enforce access control, visitor management, and physical security procedures; support NISPOM and DD-254 compliance.
• Implement OSHA-compliant safety programs, conduct inspections and drills, and track corrective actions.
• Procure equipment and materials needed to support onsite personnel
• Oversee material handling equipment and support accountability of government-furnished property per FAR/DFARS.
• Manage facility budgets, work orders, and vendor contracts against contract funding.
• Serve as the primary facility contact for the government customer, inspectors, and contractors; support audits and inspections.
• Maintain emergency and severe weather (hurricane) preparedness plans.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and at least 3 years of facility management, warehouse operations, or maintenance management experience.
• Prior DoD or federal contract experience; familiarity with NISPOM, DD-254, and FCL requirements.
• Working knowledge of OSHA standards and fire and life safety codes.
• Experience managing vendors, work orders, and budgets; proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Ability to pass a background check and willing to respond to after-hours emergencies.
• Ability to obtain and hold a favorable U.S. SECRET clearance.
• Any clearance requirements for this position are established by the government contract.
