Division/Program Summary Description
The Bureau of Operations manages Citywide District Health facilities across all five boroughs, overseeing over 300,000 square feet of property. It provides infrastructure and business services to support effective public health service delivery, including key facilities like the Public Health Laboratory and District Health Centers. The incumbents will oversee various facilities within different geographic areas of the boroughs.

Position Summary
Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Facility Manager supervises up to 10 custodial and 2 clerical staff directly, and indirectly up to 20 custodial and 4 clerical staff, covering different regions within the District Operations Unit in the absence of other Facility Managers.

Duties Will Include But Not Be Limited To

  1. Work locations are based on the needs of the agency.
  2. Oversee and facilitate administrative and operational activities of assigned facilities.
  3. Coordinate, manage, direct, and evaluate activities related to non-medical components of health care delivery, including equipment maintenance, cleaning, and security.
  4. Evaluate maintenance and custodial needs and monitor performance.
  5. Serve as liaison to DDC and private contractors for renovation projects.
  6. Provide consultative services regarding renovations, facility management, code compliance, and capital projects.
  7. Analyze relevant legislation such as Article 28, OSHA, and PESH guidelines.
  8. Attend to emergencies, resolve violations, and enforce laws and regulations.
  9. Utilize agency systems like OES, PAYRS, and FMS for payments and reports.
  10. Conduct facility inspections, oversee service requests, and supervise staff.
  11. Monitor program effectiveness and efficiency measures.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Eight years of full-time experience in construction, repair, or rehabilitation of large buildings, with at least 18 months in a supervisory or administrative role overseeing multiple buildings; or
  • Equivalent education and experience, including a baccalaureate degree in a related field and at least 18 months of supervisory experience.

Residency in NYC is not required.
