Job summary

JLL in Flat Rock, MI is seeking a Facilities Manager to lead plant operations, safety programs, and regulatory compliance, reporting to the Regional Manager and Account Director. You will manage maintenance, vendor activities, budgets, and KPI tracking to ensure quality facility services.

The role requires 5+ years in facilities management, strong leadership, and proficiency with CMMS/Work Order systems, MS Office and SharePoint. A related engineering degree and CFM certification are preferred.

• At least five years in facility management or plant operations.
• Experience supervising administrative and unionized staff.
• Strong budgeting and financial oversight.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Proficiency with CMMS/Work Order systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct the plant operations team and ensure programs (maintenance, safety, compliance) run efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with Master Services Agreement and amendments.
• Manage operational facilities spend within approved budgets.
• Track KPI/SLA performance and propose corrective actions.
• Oversee maintenance projects and vendor activities for critical ops.
• Train staff in approved maintenance practices and maintain safe work environment.
• Ensure building systems comply with state/federal/local regulations.
• Support risk and hazardous materials management practices.

Facilities Manager

What this job involves

The Facilities Manager will be the single point of contact responsible for facilities management, assisting the Regional Manager and the Account Director with the delivery of quality facility management services. This role manages facilities/plant operations teams which includes, but is not limited to, regulatory compliance, quality assurance activities, financial performance and reporting, and personnel management/development. You must comply with all JLL policies and procedures, including but not limited to ethics and business practice.

Key Responsibilities:

What is your day to day?

• Supervise and direct the plant operations team; Ensuring that the Maintenance, Financial, CMMS, Safety, and Regulatory Compliance programs are performed as efficiently as possible. Make decisions with in-depth understanding and interpretation of procedures, company policies and businesspractices.
• Maintain a working knowledge and ensure compliance with the Master Services Agreement (MSA) and any other relevant amendments or appendices which guide JLL's relationship.
• Accountable for financial performance related to Operational Facilities spend while ensuring adherence to established budgets.
• Track trends and recommend action plans regarding KPI/SLA below standard performance (MSA Driven) for PlantOperations/EngineeringServices.
• Provide oversight/support in the delivery of maintenance, projects and vendor activities supporting critical operations and/or functions.
• Ensure staff is trained in approved practices and procedures related to proper facility maintenance techniques. Create a safe work environment for staff by ensuring adherence to all safety/infection control policies and procedures/practices to include but not limited to the wearing of appropriate protective clothing and gear and the proper handling of contaminated equipment and tools.
• Accountable for ensuring that all building systems and equipment are maintained in accordance with applicable State/Federal/Local regulatoryrequirements.
• Determine the degree of compliance with applicable standards, as directed by JLL management, specifically in the areas of NFPA101 Life Safety Code, Safety Management, Security Management, Hazardous Materials Management and Waste.

Desired experience and technical skills

Required

• 5+ years of facility management, plant operations, maintenance supervisionexperience
• Managerial experience required with proven budget and personnelresponsibilities
• Strong organizational and management within matrixed organizations; oversight of both administrative staff& unionized hourly employees.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong presentation skills
• Proficiency in MS Office and MS Share Point
• Computer proficiency in CMMS/Work Order systems
• Supervise vendor performance during normal and off hours including weekends when necessary

Preferred

• College degree in a related engineering field, formal apprenticeship program or technical trade school
• CFM Certified Facility Manager or other relevant certifications
• Oversight of multiple facilities with varied functions.
