KSD is organizationally part of the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), a service agency within theCommonwealth of Kentucky under the Education and Labor Cabinet. KDE supports KSD through guidance, resources,and oversight as part of its broader mission to ensure success for every student in Kentucky’s P-12 publiceducation system.
As one of only two state-operated special schools under KDE, KSD has a long and proud history of excellence inDeaf education and cultural preservation. This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
