Job summary

CoreCivic is seeking a Maintenance Worker to install, maintain and repair facility systems in a secure, institutional setting. The role focuses on keeping the building, plumbing, electrical and equipment in good working order to support a safe environment for inmates and staff.

Ideal candidates will have a High School diploma or GED and at least two years of maintenance experience, with knowledge of building systems and a valid driver’s license. This is a full-time, on-site position in Kansas.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Two years of general maintenance or construction experience required.
• Substitution with additional technical/trade school courses may replace the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
• Knowledge of building construction and operation of building systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain/repair the physical structure of the facility in line with safe/secure operations.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair machines and equipment.
• Install/repair electrical wiring and components of machinery/equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment per the maintenance plan.
• Provide proper supervision and tracking of inmates/residents assigned to Maintenance Department.
