Job summary

OPCO Skilled Management is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to oversee the facility's upkeep, ensuring a sanitary, attractive, and orderly environment in good repair and free from hazards. Reports to Plant Supervisor or Operations Manager and ensures state compliance.

The role requires a High School diploma and knowledge of laundry, housekeeping, and maintenance procedures, with at least 2 years in long-term care preferred. Benefits are available for full-time employees.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Knowledge of laundry/housekeeping/maintenance procedures.
• Minimum of 2 years work experience in long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs regular, scheduled safety inspections and weekly walk-through inspections of high-risk areas.
• Follows Life Safety and Preventative Maintenance tasks in TELS and submits documentation as required.
• Prepares a monthly maintenance schedule based on calendar days and allocates time for preventive maintenance.
• Maintains center profile and history with complete maintenance records and parts used.
• Keeps logs and documentation for Life Safety and OSHA compliance (fire alarms, sensors, extinguishers, HVAC, etc.).
• Performs daily rounds to establish work priority and addresses requests from work orders in TELS.
• Maintains electrical and mechanical equipment, adjusts devices, lubricates and cleans components.
• Reports serious failures to Administrator and investigates causes of wall/door/frame damage.
• Checks lighting, temperature, circuit breakers, cooler/freezer temperatures, nurse call systems and makes adjustments/repairs.
• Ensures adequate supplies for daily maintenance tasks and prepares resident rooms for new or discharged residents.
