Job summary

Church of the Most Holy Name in Nashville, TN is seeking a part-time Maintenance Worker to perform upkeep, repairs, and cleaning across facilities. The role includes preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and coordination with the building committee.

The position requires basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems, along with experience using hand and electrical tools. You will report to the pastor or designated supervisor and work in both indoor and outdoor settings.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as maintenance worker or other similar position.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems.
• Experience working with tools, including hand and electrical tools.
• Ability to read technical manuals and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and identify equipment or systems needing maintenance.
• Perform preventative maintenance to keep machinery and building systems functioning.
• Check control panels and wiring for issues and reliability.
• Carry out minor repairs (faucets, drains, doors, locks) using common tools.
• Monitor boilers, HVAC and building systems for proper operation.
• Perform groundskeeping: landscaping, mowing, snow removal, outdoor cleaning.
• Ensure proper supplies for cleaning and maintenance are available.
• Follow safety regulations and maintain clean work areas.
• Perform cleaning tasks like dusting and mopping.
• Replace light bulbs and conduct routine system checks.
• Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems.
• Check safety systems such as fire alarms.
• Collaborate during renovations with other workers.
• Report issues to building committee chair.
