Job summary

Oak View Group in Richmond, VA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform general facility maintenance, ensure HVAC, electrical, plumbing systems operate reliably, and support groundskeeping as needed. This on-site role pays $20.00-$23.00 per hour.

Under supervision of the Maintenance Manager, you will handle preventative maintenance, respond to repairs, operate maintenance equipment, drive company vehicles, and document work and parts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (or equivalent) required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and basic IT concepts.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be available to work long hours, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Solid problem-solving skills.
• 2+ years of experience in general facility maintenance or related field.
• Experience maintaining and troubleshooting HVAC equipment preferred.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a Virginia driver’s license.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a CPR certificate.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and regular maintenance on facility systems (HVAC, pumps, motors, filters, and related mechanical equipment).
• Respond to emergency repair requests, diagnose problems, and repair or escalate to supervisor.
• Operate maintenance equipment such as saws, drills, torches, sanders, cutters, grinders, and more.
• Operate company vehicles including vans, pickups, forklifts, high-lifts, and floor scrubbers.
• Perform basic plumbing, electrical, painting, masonry, welding, carpentry, and related trades.
• Monitor thermostats and interior space controls regularly and adjust as needed.
• Recommend repairs on equipment and facility structures.
• Obtain approvals, order and pick up parts and supplies.
• Keep storage areas and equipment neat and organized.
• Maintain repair logs, inventory records, and replacement schedules.
• Align duties with department goals and energy conservation.
• Communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, contractors, and facility users.
• Perform other duties as required.
