Job summary

JLL is seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician in Charlotte, NC to maintain and repair mechanical, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and building control systems. The role covers preventative maintenance, emergency response, and coordination with vendors to ensure safe, reliable facility operations.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED with two years of trades education in electrical design, refrigeration, and HVAC, plus 2–5 years of hands-on experience and a Universal Technician

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with two years of trades education in electrical systems, refrigeration, and HVAC
• Universal Technician certification for CFCs (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in building repair and maintenance, plumbing, and electrical systems
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Strong analytical skills to diagnose system operations and determine corrective actions
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
• Hands-on mechanical aptitude and ability to work independently or in a team
• Understanding of safety protocols and environmental regulations related to facility equipment and operations

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, BAS, FLS, lighting, and emergency systems
• Respond to emergencies, diagnose malfunctions, and implement corrective actions
• Record equipment readings and maintain documentation of maintenance activities and service requests
• Monitor and evaluate the quality and pricing of outside contractors and vendors
• Verify delivery accuracy for parts and supplies related to maintenance orders
• Analyze monthly client service summaries to identify recurring problems and implement corrective measures
• Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies and ensure safe disposal of hazardous materials
