Job summary

Misericordia Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in York, PA is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to help maintain our two-floor facility. You will perform routine repairs and upkeep, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and groundskeeping tasks, while collaborating with the Environment Services Director and maintenance staff.

You should have hands-on experience with hand tools, snow removal, lawn care, and basic preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry and groundskeeping valued.
• Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License required.
• Basic plumbing, minor electrical, carpentry and groundskeeping skills noted.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on facility equipment (plumbing, electrical, carpentry).
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
• Snow removal from walkways using shovels and snow blowers.
• Lawn maintenance using riding mower, weed eater and related tools.
• Maintenance of equipment including generator and wheelchairs.
• Move office furniture and manage recycling/shredding materials.
• Inspect building and report repairs to Department Director.
• Other cleaning/maintenance duties as assigned.
