Job summary

York Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Philadelphia is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Assistant to join our care-focused team. You will perform general and preventive maintenance, handle work orders, and help keep resident units, common areas, and grounds safe and well-maintained.

Ideal candidates hold a High School Diploma or GED and have 2 years of maintenance experience, preferably in long-term care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Maintenance: 2 years preferred.
• Prior experience in long-term care required.

Responsibilities

• Report resident issues and concerns to the Director of Maintenance.
• Perform general and preventive maintenance, including minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and flooring repairs.
• Respond to work orders promptly and complete tasks according to priorities and timelines.
• Maintain resident units, common areas, and exterior grounds; handle basic cleaning, trash, and recycling needs.
• Safely operate and maintain tools, equipment, and supplies while keeping work areas clean and organized.
• Follow all safety guidelines, company policies, and regulations while communicating professionally with residents, team members, and vendors.
