As our Maintenance Assistant you will play a vital role in the upkeep and maintenance of our 2-floor facility. Collaborating with our Environment Services Director and Maintenance Staff for building maintenance, and grounds maintenance which includes the upkeep of our lawns and snow removal. This position requires someone with exceptional mechanical skills and the ability to use various hand tools – including drills, saws, and lawn mowers.
As our Maintenance Assistant your responsibilities would include, but are not limited to:
The successful applicant should have proven experience as a maintenance assistant. You must be motivated and have a passion for the care and well-being of not only our building, but the residents that we provide service.
Highschool diploma or GED. Trade school/Vocational Training a plus! Previous experience in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry and groundskeeping is valued. Familiarity with preventative maintenance and emergency repair procedures.
A valid Pennsylvania Driver's License.
Understanding of basic plumbing (fixing leaks, unclogging drains, replacing fixtures). Minor electrical work (replacing bulbs, outlets, switches). Carpentry experience (installing shelves, cabinets, repairing drywall, flooring). Groundskeeping knowledge (landscaping, snow removal, mowing). Problem-Solving and Safety Awareness.
This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday position. You would be “on call” for evenings and weekends.
