PURPOSE STATEMENT:

Perform routine and specific maintenance services, which may include grounds work.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Perform general maintenance and repair of facility and equipment, including plumbing, carpentry, painting, and mechanical repairs or similar tasks.
• Act as backup for the call person in case of emergency, respond timely and appropriately.
• Handle all equipment safely to prevent accidents; demonstrate good working knowledge of tools and their safe use.
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Follow preventive maintenance schedules and instructions; complete reports as requested.
• Inspect and maintain emergency power equipment, test/start generator weekly, and maintain equipment.
• Inspect and maintain fire alarm systems, including testing and recording data, and check fire extinguishers monthly.
• Inspect and maintain lighting systems throughout the facility.
• Inspect and repair plumbing systems, including faucets, toilets, urinals, traps, drains, basins, and bathtubs.
• Repair or refinish furniture in rooms, offices, and dining areas as needed.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

• Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in maintenance or facility operations required
• Knowledge of standard practices, procedures, and tools in the general building/maintenance trades preferred
