Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician to uphold a safe work environment by maintaining and repairing the service center facility, shop, grounds and dock area. You will oversee and coordinate vendor repairs and ensure compliance with all safety codes and inspections.

The role requires basic knowledge of electrical, carpentry and plumbing skills, ability to work alone or in a team, and effective communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, carpentry and plumbing skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or in a team.
• Good written and verbal communication; familiarity with maintenance software.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair service center facility, shop, grounds and dock area.
• Ensure compliance with safety codes and inspections.
• Coordinate with service center personnel for maintenance needs.
• Schedule and oversee vendor repairs and review scopes of work.
• Assist with preventative maintenance and basic repairs (HVAC, doors, fences, etc.).
• Assist with snow removal, ice melt and landscaping as applicable.
• Collaborate with in-house and 3rd-party teams on repairs.
